The Laekenois is the rarest of the four Belgian Shepherd Dog varieties, distinguishable by its rough, tousled coat. Originally used to guard linen drying in the fields and later for herding and protection work, it is intelligent, watchful, and devoted to its handler. The Laekenois tends to be more reserved than the other Belgian types and benefits from early, ongoing socialisation and training.

  • Active households looking for a loyal, working-minded companion
  • Homes that can offer space, purpose, and consistent routines
